I have always enjoyed the opportunity to stay in shape. I get so many benefits from exercising that it is hard to even categorize all of them. Perhaps most importantly, it helps my body stay healthy but a close second is the way that it makes me feel. I love the sense of accomplishment I get after a challenging workout and just as much as that feeling, I love how it takes all my stresses away and forces me to be in the moment instead of worrying about something that happened in the past or what might happen in the future. Over the years, I have become more and more engrossed in my workouts and as such, it is not uncommon for me to analyze different methods of exercising that will yield better results.

Eventually, I started looking into various fitness trackers as a result of optimizing my time in the gym. At the time, I was getting ready to run in my first marathon and I was more than a little nervous about the entire process. I wanted to make sure that I was doing everything I possibly could to put myself in the best position to finish without completely embarrassing myself. At the time, I wasn’t really worried about winning as much as I was about the possibility of someone having to carry me across the finish line. Even though I was in shape, the idea of running that many miles was something that gave me a lot of anxiety. I tried to channel that anxiety into something more positive so I spent a ton of time exercising and doing research as a means of preparing for the marathon. Along the way, I ran across a website called fitnessexact.com. Obviously, the website deals with fitness trackers and the more I read, the more interested I became.

I soon learned that I could use fitness trackers to my advantage. I started doing exactly that and it helped me see where I was going wrong in my workouts. I really started to learn how to make the most out of each workout in order to reach a targeted goal. Once I did that, I started becoming a lot less nervous about my first marathon and I even started to look forward to the date that I would finally run it. I felt like I was more prepared than I had ever been in my life and I gave a great deal of the credit to the fitness tracker because I finally knew how to create the workout that I wanted to create as opposed to simply getting out there and doing something and hoping for the best.

Finally, the big day came and I had the chance to prove myself. I was confident that my techniques would work, but I have to admit that I was letting my nerves get the best of me just as the race was getting ready to start. After all, I was finally going to put everything that I had spent so much time working on into practice and the only way that I would ever truly know if it would work was to do it. I think it was the same type of apprehension that you might feel after you have spent several days preparing for an important test and you know you are ready, yet you still feel a sense of anxiety right before you actually have to do it.

All of my worries faded away as soon as I actually started the race and I simply went into some type of race mode that I had never been in before. I had a singular focus and that was completing the race even if I wasn’t the fastest person there. I had no aspirations about beating everyone else that was far more experienced than I was but I knew that I could finish. Several hours later, I crossed the finish line and I even managed to get a respectable finish. I was in the top 10, and that was good enough for me. Since then, I’ve run a number of marathons and even come in first in a few of them. Just think about it, it all started with a desire to do better and a fitness tracker that helped me find my way.
